Foreign Cash Scandal? Trump Targets Democrat Fundraising Giant ActBlue

President Trump just signed an executive order that could shake up Democrat fundraising giant ActBlue. He’s calling on his Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to investigate claims that ActBlue has allowed foreign nationals — and fake donors — to pump money into U.S. elections.

The order comes after a congressional investigation found that in the 30 days leading up to the 2024 election, ActBlue flagged hundreds of donations coming from foreign IP addresses. Many of those donations were tied to prepaid U.S. debit cards, raising major red flags about potential illegal contributions.

Adding to the mess, ActBlue only recently started requiring CVV security codes for online donations — a basic step most online retailers have used for years to prevent fraud.

Federal law is crystal clear: foreign nationals and foreign governments aren’t allowed to donate to U.S. elections. But with billions flowing through platforms like ActBlue — $3.82 billion in 2024 alone — critics say it’s time for serious accountability.

ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones brushed off the controversy, saying, “Nothing will deter or interrupt ActBlue’s mission and work to enable millions of Americans to participate in our democracy.”

What’s next? Pam Bondi has 180 days to dig into the allegations and report back. Depending on what she finds, things could get very interesting.
