All that hullabaloo about Tennessee “going blue” turned out to be exactly what it looked like from the start: wishful thinking and clickbait. The Democrat still lost.

Predictably, the same talking heads who spent the last two weeks salivating over a possible upset are now pivoting to “the margins!”

“But compared to 2024!” they’ll say. “But look at the shift!” Spare us. This was a special election, held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, when half the country is still traveling, digesting turkey, or pretending to work. Both parties dumped millions into turnout operations just to drag people to the polls.

If a Democrat had squeaked out a win last night, you know exactly what the headlines would look like:
“A Stunning Rebuke of Trumpism.”
“Tennessee Sends a Message.”
“Warning Signs for MAGA Heading Into 2026.”

But a Trump-endorsed Republican won, in the very race Democrats were hyping as their “proof” the South was shifting?

Silence.

They’ll bury this result by tomorrow night, because it doesn’t fit the narrative. It’s the same playbook every time.
