BREAKING: Supreme Court Agrees To Hear Controversial Case And The Left is Worried

Published

on

On Monday, the Supreme Court announced they have agreed to hear a controversial case that could have a major impact on the future of abortion restrictions

They will examine a Mississippi abortion law passed in 2018 that bans abortions after 15 weeks. The law was previously blocked by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Current precedent standing, states may not explicitly ban abortions that occur prior to “fetal viability,” which the law has been determined around 6 months.  But, with the increase in medical care available, fetal viability continues to improve for younger and younger babies. With that in mind, many on the left are already expressing concern that it could overturn the judicial precedent of Roe v. Wade.

This will be the first major abortion dispute heard by Trump appointees, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett, who have all expressed pro-life beliefs.
