Well, well, well, looks like the Biden regime is at it again. They just can’t seem to get enough of imposing their out-of-touch agenda on the American people, can they? This time, they’re planning to force us all into electric vehicles by imposing strict auto-pollution limits.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has just announced their latest plan to cap tailpipe emissions and impact new car models between 2027 and 2032. What does this mean for the average American consumer, you ask? Well, it means that by 2027, 67% of new sedans, crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks will be electric vehicles. And that’s not all – 50% of bus and garbage trucks, 35% of short-haul freight tractors, and 25% of long-haul freight tractors will also be electric.

And why is the Biden regime doing this? To achieve their goal of having 50% of new cars and 30% of medium-heavy trucks be ‘zero emission’ by 2030, of course. But let’s face it, folks, this is just another way for the Democrats to control our lives and take away our choices.

Gas-powered cars made up 93% of purchases in 2022, with EVs accounting for a measly 6%. And it’s no surprise why – the average cost of an EV is a whopping $61,448. Only 19% of Americans say they’re likely to choose an EV as their next car, citing the high prices. So what does the Biden regime do? They use these regulations on tailpipe emissions to drive up the average price for a gas-powered car, making EVs more competitive.

But that’s not all, folks. The Biden regime is also giving Americans a $7,500 tax credit for new EVs, putting gas-powered cars at a competitive disadvantage. And guess what? A crucial component of electric vehicles is lithium-ion batteries, with 79% being manufactured in China. In 2022, the U.S. shelled out $9.2 billion to Chinese manufacturers for these batteries. So not only are we being forced into EVs, but we’re also becoming more reliant on China.

Senator John Barrasso said it best when he tweeted, “The president’s disastrous energy transition is making us more reliant on our enemies while driving up prices for Americans. The ‘electrification of everything’ is not a solution. It’s a road to higher prices and fewer choices.” We couldn’t agree more, Senator. It’s time for the Biden regime to stop imposing this socialist agenda on the American people and let us make our own choices.
