Former President Donald Trump, the clear frontrunner for the GOP nomination in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, has just dropped a bombshell policy proposal that has the liberal elites clutching their pearls.
Trump is going after “birthright citizenship” which grants any child born in the United States full U.S. citizenship, even those will illegal immigrant parents (or as Trump calls them, “birth tourists”). He’s had enough of the system being exploited and believes it’s time to put a stop to it.
According to a new video, Trump plans to kick off his second term with an executive order to enforce this policy right from day one. Talk about hitting the ground running!
The video released yesterday highlights that birthright citizenship has become a major pull factor for illegal immigration.
And let’s just say it: He’s not wrong. Our current system is so broken it’s practically begging to be abused.
Naturally, Trump’s proposal – as with literally anything the man dares to say – has stirred up quite a controversy. Liberals are suddenly VERY attached to the Constitution and worry Trump’s plan undermines the 14th Amendment – which may have to be amended to clear up the birthright issue.
Trump doesn’t seem afraid of the legal obstacles.
And we know he’s not afraid to ruffle some feathers.
