Conservative Twitter Destroys the New York Times for Their Attack on ‘Racist’ Mount Rushmore

Ahead of President Trump’s scheduled Fourth of July celebration at Mount Rushmore, the New York Times decided to write a super WOKE rant about the monuments “racist past.”

In a report headlined “How Mount Rushmore Became Mount Rushmore,” they trashed George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt and criticized the monument in the name of Native Americans, since it was built on indigenous land.

They also pointed out that sculptor Gutzon Borglum – who I’m sure no one could name before drafting this report – had “strong bonds with leaders of the Ku Klux Klan” and has a “documented history of espousing white supremacist and anti-Semitic rhetoric.”

Conservatives have blasted the report. Even Donald Trump Jr. weighed in to say

Senator Tom Cotton also commented, saying “now the woke mob at the New York Times is coming after Mount Rushmore.”

“If we give this mob an inch, they’ll take a mile,” he added.

Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway spoke up, too. “Some folks who thought Trump was too Trumpy with his “fake news is enemy of the American people” rhetoric are reading NYT describing the US as a “caste system,” decrying Mount Rushmore, calling for cancellation of George Washington, and wondering if he was in fact too kind.”

Level headed, non-woke Americans joined them by the dozens to tweet in support of the national landmark, and in opposition of an increasingly annoying social justice crowd.

It’s clear the New York Times made no new friends.

But the best burn against the trash Times came from Fox Business favorite, Lou Dobbs.

“The New York Times sees Mt. Rushmore as a symbol of racism. We see the New York Times as a symbol of ignorance.”
