Just a few short weeks ago, the CDC told America that it was safe for children to attend school without a mask if they are vaccinated.
Dr. Fauci agreed.
But then the American Academy of Pediatrics issued new COVID-19 guidelines that recommended that everyone over the age of 2 wear a mask this fall, even if they have been fully vaccinated.
Now, Dr. Fauci agrees with that!
The director of the NIH told CBS This Morning that he believes the AAP’s recommendation of universal masking in schools is beneficial, calling it an “extra step of caution.”
He seemed to hint that the CDC may change their formal opinion as well, saying “in general, that is a bit different from the CDC guidelines, but right now the CDC is carefully looking at that,” Fauci said. “And hopefully we’ll now have some concordance of the recommendations.”
