WOAH! Did You See Ron DeSantis Attack Trump?

For the last few months, rumors have swirled about Ron DeSantis possibly challenging Trump for the 2024 nomination.

For the most part, Ron “DeSanctimonious” has avoided confrontation with Trump, despite a few jabs from Donald Trump himself.

But that silence all ended in an interview with Piers Morgan, DeSanctimonious (as he’s been dubbed) went after Trump with guns blazing. He even said he has what it takes to beat Biden and become president himself. That’s some bold talk, Ron.

DeSantis criticized Trump’s handling of COVID, saying he “would have fired someone like Fauci for getting too big for his britches and causing damage.”

Not not sure why he said “someone like” Fauci instead of just saying “I would have Fauci,” but, okay.

Ron also claimed to be all about running “no drama” administration, but let’s not forget that he’s being sued for running a shadow presidential campaign… while he’s on Piers Morgan running for President… so there may be more drama than he’s letting on.

And then there’s the whole “DeSanctimonious” nickname that Trump gave him.

When he was asked about it, Ron tried to play it off like it doesn’t bother him.

He said “I don’t know how to spell the sanctimonious one. I don’t really know what it means… To me, it’s just background noise.”

But he kind of missed the mark there. First, he repeats an insult (something Trump would never do!) and then ADDS insult to injury.

“I’m not only sanctimonious, I’m also kind of dumb!”

Trump would never insult himself like that.

Overall, it’s clear Meatball is running for President and he has a long road ahead.

If he wants to win the nomination, he’s going to have to do more to connect with the MAGA crowd. These clips from his interview with Piers certainly didn’t help his case.
