IRONY ALERT: Nancy Pelosi Wants Term Limits???
Over the weekend, the former Speaker of the House told former White House press secretary Jen Psaki on her new MSNBC program that Supreme Court justices should have “term limits.”
Appearing on “Inside with Jen Psaki” on Sunday, the former House Speaker expressed her belief that there “certainly should be term limits” for the justices.
“Here we have a body… chosen for life. They never have to run for office. They are nominated, confirmed for life, with no accountability for their ethical behavior,” she added.
Pelosi’s outrage was clearly directed towards the Supreme Court’s decision a year ago to overturn Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which effectively ended federal protections for abortion.
But boy… isn’t this plea just a little bit IRONIC?
Nancy Pelosi is all fired up about term limits for the Supreme Court, but conveniently forgets that she’s been clinging to her seat in Congress since 1987 – years before I was even born.
Fun Fact: Nancy has been in power longer than any Justice on the Supreme Court today!
Imagine the audacity of demanding term limits for others while she herself refuses to let go of her political throne.
I can’t help but laugh at the hypocrisy. Maybe it’s time for Pelosi to take a long, hard look in the mirror before she starts pointing fingers.
