The Washington Post highlighted Obama’s warning about Trump’s “iron-grip” on the Republican Party, along with his strong support base and the backing of a Trump-friendly conservative media. These factors, combined with a deeply polarized country, could make Trump a formidable adversary, much more than what most Democrats may realize.

Recognizing the challenge ahead, Obama has offered his assistance to his former vice president in the 2024 race.

And he probably needs it!

Despite facing three indictments, Trump’s support has only grown stronger in recent months, bolstered by his fiercely loyal followers who make up a substantial portion of the Republican base, as reported by BBC News.

The New York Times/Siena College poll from July 2023 revealed that Biden and Trump are currently in a dead heat in a hypothetical match-up for the 2024 race, both tied at 43%. Although some Democrats have warmed up to the idea of Biden running for re-election, half of the Democrat primary voters still prefer a different candidate.

Biden’s overall approval rating stands at 39%.
