AOC Exploits a Dead Woman to Push Her Anti-Police Agenda
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went on camera and called the Minneapolis ICE shooting a “criminal murder” and a sign of “government tyranny.” That statement is both tone deaf and reckless. And it is exactly the kind of rhetoric that is getting people killed.
Here is what actually happened: An ICE operation was underway. Protesters flooded the scene. A woman drove her SUV into the situation, used her vehicle to block agents, refused lawful commands to exit, and then attempted to strike an ICE agent with her car in the process. That is not “fleeing for her life.” That is using a vehicle as a weapon during a federal law enforcement operation.
And yet AOC’s instinct was not to call for calm. It was not to say wait for the facts. It was not to discourage people from confronting armed federal agents in the middle of an active operation.
Her instinct was to inflame. Of course, Tim Walz had the same instinct!
This is what Democrats have been doing for years now. Defund the police. Abolish ICE. Fuck ICE. Law enforcement is the enemy. They chant it. They normalize it. They encourage it. Then they act shocked when regular people start believing it and behaving accordingly.
Tim Walz and Mayor Frey told ICE to get out of Minneapolis while mobs were throwing objects, smashing windows, and attacking federal officers. AOC called a justified use of force against tyranny. These people are not leaders. They are agitators.
You cannot tell your constituents that law enforcement is illegitimate, oppressive, and evil, then act surprised when someone decides to resist an arrest or ram a cop with their car. That is exactly the environment Democrats have created.
AOC did not just mischaracterize this tragedy. She used it as propaganda.
A woman is dead. Her death is tragic. But AOC is exploiting it to push the same anti police narrative that helped create the chaos in the first place. She is pointing the finger everywhere except where it belongs, at her own party’s rhetoric.
This was not government tyranny. This was the predictable result of years of Democrats telling people that law enforcement is the enemy and resistance is virtuous.
AOC, Tim Walz, and the Defund the Police movement did not pull the trigger, but they created the conditions that made this inevitable.
And Minneapolis is paying the price.
