The Left Wants You to Forget Everything You Saw With Your Own Eyes

I keep seeing that Orwell quote floating around like it’s some kind of mic drop for the left: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears…” And every time I see it I have the same reaction.

Wait. Are you on my side, on accident?

Because if we’re actually going to talk about “the evidence of our eyes and ears,” then let’s do that honestly.

My eyes have watched people throw Molotov cocktails at police officers and be described as “peaceful.” My ears have heard commentators call a woman who committed violence a “poet.” My eyes have seen a man waving a gun around described as a “Good Samaritan.” And somehow I’m supposed to nod along and pretend this is normal, reasonable, and compassionate?

That quote feels a lot more appropriate for the people pretending that chaos is kindness and lawlessness is justice.

What really gets me is the selective outrage. The same people now sobbing about law enforcement were completely silent when little grandmas were being hauled off in handcuffs for walking through the Capitol. Silent when federal agents were raiding the home of a former president. Silent while lawsuits were flying across the country to try to destroy the lives and careers of his lawyers. No Orwell quotes then. No cries about tyranny. No concern for “the evidence of your eyes and ears.”

But now that immigration law is being enforced? Now suddenly law enforcement is the villain?

Please.

It starts to feel less like compassion and more like resentment. Less like “humanity and peace” and more like anger directed at Americans themselves. As if the real problem isn’t crime, fraud, or billions in public resources being drained, but the audacity of citizens wanting their laws enforced.

You don’t get to spend years defending chaos, excusing violence, and cheering on political persecution and then suddenly clutch pearls when the law is applied to the liberal underclass of illegals immigrants.

If we’re going to quote Orwell, let’s at least be honest about who is actually asking people to ignore what they can plainly see.

Because a lot of us are done pretending we don’t see it.
