Democrats Pretend Trump Wants Iran to Nuke California
Democrats have discovered their closing argument for the midterms: Donald Trump wants Iran to nuke Los Angeles.
No, seriously. That is apparently what we’re doing now.
After Trump spoke at a Nebraska rally about the war with Iran and the resulting increase in gas prices, Democrats and their media allies began circulating a clipped version of his remarks suggesting the president had casually offered up Los Angeles and San Diego for nuclear annihilation.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries solemnly declared, “The nuclear annihilation of an American city is no laughing matter.”
There’s just one tiny problem: That is very obviously not what Trump was saying.
Trump was discussing higher gas prices caused by the conflict with Iran. He called those higher prices “a small price to pay” for keeping America safe from a nuclear threat. He then launched into one of his trademark, grammatically chaotic riffs about what could happen if Iran were allowed to become capable of striking an American city.
Trump said: “They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.” He then immediately returned to saying “this is a very small price to pay” while discussing the temporary economic pain from the war and predicting gas prices would fall afterward.
Was the sentence elegant? Maybe not. But my God, they’re TRYING to be wrong here.
Even the White House subsequently clarified that Trump was NOT inviting Iran to attack California.
Apparently all Democrats need to see are the words “Los Angeles,” “San Diego,” and “take out” and they fill in the blanks with the rest. Context optional.
Even slimeball Gavin Newsom claimed Trump was “advocating for an attack on millions of Americans.” Others quickly piled on.
And this is the usual problem. These losers repeatedly choose the most cartoonishly dishonest interpretation imaginable and then demand everyone participate in the outrage.
This is why everyone hates the media.
