The Curious Case of Timothee Chalamet

Timothee Chalamet is broadly considered one of the most talented actors in Hollywood today – or at least he was. Chalamet was the front runner for an Academy Award this year for his role as Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme and he took home a Golden Globe for that same role. He was beaten by Michael B. Jordan (for Sinners) for a lot of reasons, the most important being that Hollywood loves Michael B. Jordan and for some reason they don’t love Timothee as much as they used to. Don’t take my word for it, here is an article published this week about how Hollywood wants less of Timothee Chalamet.

When Timothee Chalamet debuted, he was presented to the world as a delicate, bird boned artist who was making the women swoon with his gender ambiguity and almost feminine presentation. This image was maintained by Chalamet for the bulk of his career so far, famously appearing in a shimmering red halter top for the premier of his film Bones and All in 2022.

Chalamet’s true debut of note was Call me By Your Name an LGBT coming of age romance that justifies the relationship between a minor boy and an adult man. The film sets the ages at 17 and 24 to make the audience less scandalized but of course the aim of these stories is to always slowly lower sensitivity to inappropriate sexual relationships with vulnerable minors. Of course, the left absolutely loved this film. Ironically, both stars of the movie, Armie Hamer and Timothee Chalamet, have fallen well out of grace with the Hollywood elitist left.
Timothee’s resume from there is nothing but sensational roles in exceptional films and the parts become progressively more mainstream. But he stars in films which are directed by Hollywood darlings such as Greta Gerwig. He even bent the knee and starred in a film directed by Woody Allen who was accused by his own daughter of sexual molestation and despite his claims that the accusations are false, he did go on to marry his step daughter when she was 21 and he was 62 having known her since she was only 10. Willingness to participate in a film with Woody Allen does appear to be some kind of Hollywood litmus ritual that all the darlings must go through to prove their true loyalties. Chalamet passed the test.
Chalamet’s rebirth into a person the left cannot pallet didn’t begin until he landed his major role in Dune. Dune is not only mainstream, but if anything, it has an audience which favors the right wing. He went on to play the most religious (and surprising) character in Don’t Look Up and his performance grounded the entire film. He was still on okay footwith with Hollywood at this time even though his gender ambiguous soft boy image was beginning to slip.

It was 2023 when he began dating Kylie Jenner that leftist Hollywood began to abandon their love of Timothee Chalamet. Why? To begin with, Kylie is undeniably female. She’s curvy, wears a lot of makeup, has long, big hair and is a mother. Part of what Hollywood liked about Timothee was his ability to bait the LGBT audience and suggest that traditional masculinity and femininity no longer existed in the mainstream. That narrative was lost. And with his relationship with Kyle, Timothee seemed to shake off the dust of the delicate boned baby boy Hollywood had proposed him to be. When this relationship first broke, the leftists (both elite and fans) said that it can’t be true because Timothee is their precious elitist boy! And Kylie is a hot biological woman that looks of new money and hard work! They couldn’t believe their prince had so fallen in their esteem.

In 2024, he appeared on College Game Day and uh oh he knew ball. He also dressed not only in traditionally masculine silhouettes (to be fair: pink) but in traditionally fraternal attire. Timothee showed up as bro. He shook hands with Pat McAfee. The progressive castle created around the cloudlike narrative of this man had crumbled to the ground. It was this year that Dune: Part 2 was released which was nominated for best picture (losing to Oppenheimer) and Chalamet delivered his best performance to date as Paul Atredis. To the horror of the left, Chalamet quickly became a favorite of the right wing with the “Lisan Al-Gaib” meme flooding the 2024 election cycle mostly regarding Donald and Barron Trump and other conservative references.
In 2025 he delivered the best performance of the year as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown and lost the Oscar to Adrian Brody in The Brutalist who used AI to fake an accent. This year, he gave the best male performance of the year as Marty Mauser in Marty Supreme and he lost to Michael B. Jordan for playing characters named Smoke and Stack in Sinners. Hollywood has made their decision. And Chalamet is not their precious feminine prince as they intended so he cannot have their glory.

Timothee never actually did anything against the leftist Hollywood cult. He didn’t say he was Republican or liked Trump. He didn’t show up at a UFC match. He participated in all the cult rituals in the beginning of his career that he was required to do. Kyle Jenner’s father is famously a Trump supporter but also famouslhy transgendered and Kylie has never expressed her politics. The two have not technically done anything to run afoul of the elite and yet their very existence is an insult to the cult’s grasp on power. They represent a gender binary in one of the more visually literal displays. They dress flamboyantly. They speak frankly and brashly. Timothee wants his movies to be well liked and approachable. He rejects elitism. And they can’t have that.
Timothee Chalamet isn’t as obviously marked as Sydney Sweeny but his problem in Hollywood is similar. It doesn’t matter how talented he is (or how beautiful she is) or that neither of them have ever even been expressly political. It only matters that they did not fit the prescribed mold of what Hollywood progressives want to be true. He won’t “say the line” both literally and figuratively.
I hope Timothee Chalamet is soon recognized by his peers for his phenomenal work and that his early career sacrifices at the altar of Hollywood progressivism were not all for not. Dune: Part 3 has released its first trailer and is set to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Thanks to the modern Trump conservative movement, often commercial success can be enjoyed and even outweigh the political thumb pressing down on creativity and individuality as I believe it will in the case of Chalamet.
