Charlie Kirk Was a Husband, a Dad… and Now He’s Gone
It’s hard to process the loss of Charlie Kirk. I didn’t know him personally, but this feels personal. He was only about my age, with little kids at home, and he stood for people like me.
For years, his voice was out front, saying things millions of Americans believe but are too often vilified for. He never sent anyone to war. He never shut down a business. His “crime” was his conviction. He was willing to speak boldly about the values of faith, family, and freedom.
That’s why this is so devastating.
No one should have to worry that simply showing up for work, for doing the job of advocating for their beliefs, could mean never coming home to their children. Disagreement should never be a death sentence. It’s terrifying that in America, some people have forgotten that.
Charlie was a husband, a father, a son, and to many of us, whether we knew him or not, he was our spokesperson. He was a force. What he built cannot be overstated.
His death is not just a tragedy for his family, but for every American who believes in free speech and in the right to live without fear of violence for holding an opinion.
