Chris Christie just called baby boomers the “most selfish generation in American history”… and everyone is melting down.

But let’s be honest for a second. Is he completely wrong?

This is the generation that benefited from some of the best economic conditions in American history… cheap housing, strong wages, fewer barriers… and then turned around and pulled the ladder up behind them. Sky-high home prices, crushing debt, and a system that feels a lot harder to break into didn’t just appear out of nowhere.

Now, is it fair to paint an entire generation with one brush? Obviously not. There are plenty of boomers who sacrificed, worked hard, and still do.

But the outrage over his comment feels a little… defensive.

Two things can be true at once. Christie is often off the mark… but every once in a while, even a broken clock hits the right time.
